About the Race
As the first race in the Healthy UCity Race Series, the UNC Charlotte 49er Gold Rush 5K Run/Walk, hosted by the Recreational Services Department, is open to everyone. Current UNC Charlotte Students with a valid student ID who register by the early bird deadline will receive a student discount. Faculty/Staff, Alumni, and Community are encouraged to participate.
Net Proceeds from the UNC Charlotte 49er Gold Rush 5K Run/Walk will benefit UNC Charlotte student development scholarships. Direct donations will be taken for Girls on the Run. You can give additional funds to Girls on the Run by checking the box on your entry form. Girls on the Run promotional video.
Parking & Directions
The 5k begins and ends at the Irwin Belk Track. The closest location to park on campus will be the West Deck parking garage. Parking for this event is free.
From Cameron Blvd to West Deck:
Use South Entrance (Cameron Blvd) to enter campus from US Hwy 49/University City Blvd. If you are coming from the north, Cameron Blvd is one driveway south of the main entrance on Hwy 49/University City Blvd on the right just past the tennis courts.
If you are coming from the south, it is on the left, just past the State Employees Credit Union.
Once on Cameron, drive through the intersection of University Rd (traffic light) and take the next right for West Deck, and turn right again to enter West Deck.
The Belk Track is directly across the street from West Deck.
The campus is also accessible from North Tryon/US 29, Mary Alexander, John Kirk, and Toby Creek roads, if you are familiar with the campus.
