Facility Assistant

Job Description:

  • Greet all patrons as they enter the facility and provide quality customer service
  • Answer phone calls, record racquetball court and Spin class reservations, and be able to provide basic Belk Gym and program information to patrons
  • Utilize access system to verify eligibility of facility use prior to patron entrance
  • Screen potential guests for eligibility as per guest pass policies
  • Maintain efficient laundry services and perform shift specific-cleaning duties
  • Provide equipment check out services to patrons while inspecting returned equipment for damage
  • Provide tours to guests as necessary
  • To represent the Department of Recreational Services in a professional manner at all times
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all Department of Recreational Services programs, policies, and procedures
  • Be able to activate the Emergency Action Plan
  • Assist with facility set-ups and take downs for programs and special events
  • Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned
  • Attend all staff trainings and meetings


  • Must be a currently enrolled student in good academic standing at UNC Charlotte
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to work effectively with others
  • Willing to work morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend hours as scheduled
